How does it work?
Definitii assists you through the three initial stages involved in attaining B Corp Certification and the final stage of ongoing support.
Definitii B Corp Certification Process
Stage 1 | Validation
Estimated Time: approximately 10 - 15 hours of work
We learn more about your organisation and validate your readiness to start the B Corp Certification process.
We complete the B Impact Assessment (BIA) questions together.
We validate your organisation’s current impact across 5 impact areas - governance, workers, community, customers and environment.
Once we complete the BIA & with associated evidence, we then identify the changes that are required to move through Stage 2.
Stage 2 | Impact Improvement Plan
Estimated Time: approximately 20 hours of work
We provide you with an “Impact Improvement Plan” with recommended changes that you can make across your BIA to improve your impact score.
These changes will make a positive impact across the 5 key impact areas - governance, workers, community, customers and environment.
Once you have 80+ points across the impact areas, you are now ready to submit your B Impact Assessment.
Stage 3 | Submit Business Impact Assessment (BIA)
Estimated Time: approximately 10 - 15 hours of work
We organise and prepare your documentation from Stage 2 and submit your BIA.
We attend your Review Call together with the B Lab analyst.
We work on any analyst recommended changes together.
Once your assessment has been verified and your impact score is still over 80, you will be invited to pay certification fees and officially be a part of the B Corp Community. Yay!
If after the review your impact score drops below 80 & you don’t attain B Corp Certification, we will then work together on additional impact improvements to re-submit based on B Lab’s recommendations.
Stage 4 | Ongoing Support
Once you are certified, you are required to submit for re certification every 3 years.
We love this because we truly believe that the B Corp certification is just the beginning of creating businesses for the greater good.
